What should I check in OSSBuy QC photos?
QC means quality check. Start by checking that the photos belong to your order and show the size, color, version and quantity you paid for. Then look for visible damage or missing parts. Pay extra attention to unclear measurements, damaged fasteners, missing accessories and unreadable labels. Decide what to do next: keep the item, request a clearer photo, or ask about a return or exchange. Save a note of your decision.
Check which inspection service is selected for your order. Screening for prohibited goods is different from checking color, size and condition. Review what is included rather than assuming every feature has already been examined.
Separate product references from your own order photos
A product card’s QC count tells you how many reference photos are available for that listing. Those photos may show another customer’s size, color or version. They help you identify useful angles to request, but they do not establish what arrived for your purchase.
For your decision, match photos to your own order and selected option. Keep the purchase note beside the images and check the whole photo set, not just a cropped thumbnail. If the item reference is missing or the photos seem to describe a different option, resolve that before assessing small details.
Which QC views should I request for shoes, clothing and bags?
| Category | Useful views | Questions the views can answer |
|---|---|---|
| Shoes | Both shoes together, each side, heels, soles, size labels; a clearly placed ruler if needed. | Is the pair the selected option? Are there visible tears, separation, mismatched parts or label differences? |
| Clothing | Full front and back, size label, seams and closures, flat measurements with the tape visible. | Does the size tag match? Is the selected print or color present? Are tears, stains or damaged fasteners visible? |
| Bags and accessories | Exterior, interior, strap attachment points, closure details and included parts. | Is anything missing or visibly damaged? Are the requested dimensions shown clearly? |
Check both sides of a pair and every purchased unit where possible. A front view cannot show the back of a jacket, and a closed bag cannot show whether an interior compartment is present. Use the measurement guide when the missing evidence concerns fit.
Keep, request another photo or raise a return?
| What you see | Next action | Evidence to keep |
|---|---|---|
| The selected option matches and the important visible details are clear. | Save your decision to keep the item, then check any remaining details before shipping. | Order option, reviewed images and your decision date. |
| Blurry label, hidden seam, uncertain color or ruler endpoints outside the frame. | Request a precise re-photo or measurement. An unclear view is not proof of either a good item or a defect. | The unclear image and the exact detail requested. |
| Wrong item, wrong ordered size or color, missing unit, visible tear or broken hardware. | Keep the item out of a parcel and contact support about correction, return or exchange promptly. | Purchase specification plus a clear photo showing the discrepancy. |
A size label can match the order while the measured garment differs from the saved chart. Explain which measurement differs and how each was taken. The return window and eligibility still apply while you are waiting for a reply.
How to read a measurement photo
- Identify the garment or shoe and the selected size.
- Find the tape’s zero point and the specified endpoint in the same image.
- Check the unit and whether the tape is straight, angled, curved or partly hidden.
- Check that the garment is laid flat without stretching.
- Compare only with a chart or reference measurement taken by the same method.
A close-up of the endpoint without the start does not establish the full length. Shadows, folds and camera perspective can also make a measurement hard to read. Request a clearer setup instead of estimating from the background or shoe box.
A useful request for extra QC photos
For order [reference], selected [color, size and version], please photograph [specific area] in focus. I need to check [question]. For the measurement, please show both ends of the tape in centimetres with the item [flat / positioned as specified]. Please confirm any additional fee before carrying out the request.
For example: “Please show the hoodie’s full front with a straight tape from underarm to underarm. The first photo hides the zero point.” This gives the warehouse a specific task. “More QC please” leaves the required view unclear and may not resolve the question.
What QC photos cannot confirm
Photos can reveal visible errors, but they cannot reliably confirm authenticity, chemical safety, internal electronic function, waterproofing, comfort or long-term durability. Lighting can alter color, and a photograph cannot establish how fabric will feel when worn.
If a grey hoodie appears beige, compare consistent views before deciding the color is wrong. The example of a grey hoodie looking beige in photos separates lighting differences from a mismatched option and explains what additional view would help.
Request an appropriate check if a non-visible feature is essential, confirm whether that service is available, and consider leaving the item out if the question remains unresolved. A large number of clear photos is still not proof of every product claim.
Before approving a parcel
- Review every unit and option, including accessories.
- Resolve open measurements and visible discrepancies.
- Save the evidence before a listing or photo link changes.
- Keep any item under return review out of the shipment.
- Check storage deadlines and the final delivered budget.
Accepting the visible condition and paying for international shipping are separate decisions. Finish both the item review and the parcel checks before dispatch.
